High School Summer Theatre Production

Don't miss an opportunity to witness one of the finest High School Theater groups in downstate Illinois! Our mission is to provide local high school students the opportunity to practice their craft in an outdoor, community setting.

Restroom facilities as well as wheelchair seating are available. Patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Some rental chairs are available at the music theater performances. We also encourage you to bring insect repellent and a flashlight! Concessions will be available.

Please note, some mild adult language is used in the production of How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.

Who can audition?  Any student currently in 8th through 12 grades
What should I expect from auditions?
Please prepare to sing 16-32 bars. We will provide an accompanist or you will be able to plug into a speaker. We will provide monologues and ask that you pick one to read. There will also be a dance portion to the audition, so come prepared to move.
When and where are auditions? TBD. Auditions are held at the Community Activity Center (CAC) at 1110 Douglas St., Normal.
What are Callbacks? If you are called back then that means that the directors would like to see something specific from you. Music and scripts will be provided at that time.
When will the cast list be posted? The list will be posted as soon as possible, usually late Saturday night. The list is published on the Facebook page "NPR Summer Music Theatre" and on the doors to the Community Activity Center (CAC). Everyone cast in the shows needs to attend the Company Meeting with a parent or guardian.
