Grant and Home/Business Loan Programs
Normal has an assortment of grant and loan programs that offer financial assistance to residents and businesses. To learn more about any of these programs simply click on any of the links below.
For Businesses and Organizations:
- Moratz Façade Improvement Grant Program: This grant program seeks to address the maintenance and rehabilitation needs of building facades in Uptown Normal by offering 50/50 matching grants to interested, qualified building and business owners.
- Uptown Business Loan Program: This program helps businesses in Uptown Normal with rehabilitation projects by helping to provide below market interest loans through interest buy downs.
- Harmon Arts Grant Program: The Harmon Arts Grant Program is designed to encourage arts programming in the Twin Cities area.
For Residents:
- Downpayment Assistance Program: This dollar for dollar match program helps eligible residents become homeowners through downpayment and closing cost assistance.
- Rehabilitation Grant/Loan Program: The purpose of this program is to help conserve the stock of affordable housing by correcting major life and health safety deficiencies through the provision of grants and/or loans to income eligible owner occupants.
- Dr. Robert G. Bone Historic Preservation Grant Program: This program is designed to provide the owners of historic properties with financial assistance in the restoration and preservation of the exterior architectural features of those structures.
- Tree Planting Program: The Town of Normal encourages Normal residents to plant trees to either replace previously existing trees or just beautify their area. Residents are eligible for up to $60.00 toward the purchase of a tree for their property.
