August 9, 2005 @ 12:00 P.M.

Call to Order
Ms. Matter called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. and noted that a quorum was present.
Minutes:
Mr. Ward moved to approve the regular minutes of July 12, 2005, Ms.
Burgess seconded.
Motion carried 5-0.
CA-05-07-27, 1302 Hillcrest, New wooden storm windows and storm doors.
Mr. Morgan would like to replace 8 storm windows with cypress framed two light storms. Also Mr. Morgan would like to replace existing aluminum front screen door with a wooden door more appropriate for the style of the house. Ms. Armstrong moved to approve, Mr. Ward seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
BG-05-07-07, 1302 Hillcrest, New wooden storm windows and storm door.
Mr. Morgan reviewed the two bids he had received for the windows. Mr. Morgan said he would prefer to go with the bid from Lincoln Woodworks for $1,725.00 Mr. Morgan said he will be painting the wooden windows a light brown color to match existing trim. Mr. Morgan showed a picture of what the new front door would look like. Ms. Matter moved to approve, Mr. Warloe seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
CA-05-07-026, 702 Normal Avenue, Erect a 3.5 foot wood picket fence, painted white, along the front property line (corner lot, frontage on Normal and Gregory) and a 6 ft. wood privacy fence scalloped between posts, painted white, along rear and side property line.
Ms. Kerestes said she has spoke with Mr. Dodson and has received the dimensions for the fence. Ms. Kerestes said Mr. Dodson would like to have the fence completely done within a year. Mr. Dodson is building the fence himself. She reminded the commission that as a legality they would have to vote on the Certificate of Appropriateness at this meeting, since it was not on last month’s agenda and could not be voted on.
Ms. Burgess moved to approve, Ms. Armstrong seconded, and Motion carried 5-0.
Other Business
South Side Intensive Architectural Survey Draft Report Review.
There was much discussion amongst the commissioners regarding edits to the south side intensive architectural survey draft report prepared by Wiss Janney Elstner Associates, Inc. Ms. Kerestes is compiling a list of changes to give to the consultants that are preparing this survey report.
Adjournment
There being no further business, Ms. Armstrong, moved that the meeting be adjourned at approximately 1:15 p.m. Ms. Burgess seconded. The motion carried 5-0.
