1 Call to Order:
Chairperson Evelyn Young called the meeting to order at 5:16 pm.

Ramesh Chaudhari and Commissioner Bradley Fuller
- Absent: Commissioner Tim Harshbarger

2 Approval of Minutes from March 21, 2006 Meeting and April 7, 2006 Retreat
Commissioners Bergner and McKeeth moved and seconded to approve the minutes from the March 21, 2006 meeting and April 7, 2006 retreat. With no further discussion the minutes were approved by a unanimous voice vote.
3 Complaint Review
Staff informed the commission that there are no outstanding complaints on file.
4 New Business
- ACLU meeting
Joe Garibay, Normal Human Resources Director, discussed the ACLU meeting concerning the local police departments. - Not In Our Town Update
Mark Miller, Not In Our Town committee representative, discussed the planned activities for July of 2006. Commissioner Bergner recommended that the commission write a letter to the Pantagraph editor in support of Not In Our Town. - Police Department Complaint Process (tentative)
Due to circumstances this discussion has to be tabled till a later meeting

- Human Relations Commission Goals
Staff was asked to put the Goals on the next agenda.

Adjournment
Commissioner Ramesh Chaudhari moved to adjourn the April 18, 2006 meeting of the Normal Human Relations Commission at 6:00 PM. Commissioner Laurie Bergner seconded the motion. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote.
