- Call to Order:
Chairperson Evelyn Young called the meeting to order at 5:19 pm.

- Approval of Minutes from November 21, 2006 Meeting
Commissioners Laurie Bergner and Michael Pullin moved and seconded to approve the minutes from the November 21, 2006 meeting. With no further discussion the minutes were approved by a unanimous voice vote.
- Complaint Review
Staff informed the commission that there is one outstanding complaint on file. This complaint is race based in public accommodation. The complainant and respondent were sent a letter from staff informing them of the conciliation meeting scheduled for January 4, 2007.
- New Business
Review & Vote for Dr. Martin Luther King Luncheon Youth and Adult Awards
The commission voted for the youth “I Have a Dream” and the adult Human Relations Awards to be presented at the 30th Dr. Martin Luther King Awards Luncheon on January 14, 2006. The commission voted by putting their choices in the order of preference. The youth award and adult awards both had one person nominated so the commission reviewed their nominations for approval

With no further discussion the vote was approved by a unanimous voice vote.
- Old Business
Dr. King Luncheon Committee Reports- Program Committee has chosen a band and will be confirmed by end of next week.
- Awards Committee completed their duties. Commissioner Young suggested that parent’s names be added to the nomination form for the youth award.
- Public Relations Committee has discussed possible
venues for press exposure for the event.
- Concerns
Chairperson Young asked commissioners who was planning on attending the Dr King Luncheon. Commissioner Ramesh Chaudhari, Commissioner Laurie Bergner, Commissioner Terry Brown, and Commissioner Jason Wallace all stated that they will attend the event on January 13th.
- Adjournment
Commissioner Laurie Bergner moved to adjourn the November 21, 2006 meeting of the Normal Human Relations Commission at 5:40 PM. Commissioner Jason Wallace seconded the motion. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote.
