Purpose:
This committee seeks to further international relations and good will between the Bloomington/Normal community and Vladimir, Russia and Canterbury, England.
Membership:
The Association eagerly welcomes new members and supporters! Basic membership ("Tolstoy Level") is $40 per year. Members receive our Communicator newsletter and are invited to various annual educational and social events related to Vladimir, Russia, and Canterbury, England. It's a very special opportunity to meet with delegations from these cities, as well as to visit with and to help host exchange students. From time to time trips abroad are arranged for groups wishing to visit these two charming cities. An informational brochure is available upon request (PO Box 6048, Bloomington 61702).
Meetings:
Meetings are generally the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., held in homes of board members.

The Medical Committee:
The Medical Committee is also known as the Medical Partners of Bloomington/Normal, and has worked in tandem with the Vladimir Medical Partnership Association since 1993. Partnership activities have included USAID SPAN grants, citywide health conferences in Vladimir funded locally and privately, annual medical professional exchanges, curriculum development with the Vladimir Medical College, and development of an internet resource center and virtual library for health care professionals. The most recent activity was a trip to Vladimir in May 2009 for site visits and participation in a joint conference. Topics of the 2-day conference were Professional Burnout in the Medical Profession and Quality Improvement of Professional Activity- the Keystone of Healthcare Development.
