Human Resources Department

Welcome to the Normal Human Resources Department. The Town of Normal is committed to providing a comprehensive human resources management system. In doing so, the Human Resources Department and the Town of Normal aspire to uphold two important principles: Merit and Equal Opportunity in Employment.

The Human Resources Department is involved in two major functions, management of the Town’s human resources, and influence of the human relations among the Town's residents and guests. Within the human resources management function, staff is involved in employee selection, benefits and compensation administration, records management and labor relations. Staff also serves as the primary liaison to the Wellness/EAP Committee, the Employee Safety Committee and the Health Insurance Committee.

The Town of Normal offers a variety of rewarding public service careers for those interested in providing high quality service to its citizens. The Town needs skilled labor in its Parks and Recreation, Public Works and Water departments. Working in the field of Human Relations is the second major function of the Human Resources Department. The Town of Normal works hard to let its citizens know that they are welcomed and appreciated; that they will be provided the best service regardless of the race, color, gender, age or other factors. As primary staff to the Normal Human Relations Commission we work closely with the Commission and many people and organizations, all of us striving to keep Normal the great place for all people to live and work.
