Town of Normal, Illinois. Committed to Service Excellence.

Adult and Youth Sports

A variety of sports are offered for youth and adults throughout the year. For youth the summer months offer t-ball, tennis lessons and skills programs. In the fall and winter we offer volleyball and basketball leagues. Adults can choose from softball, sand volleyball and soccer in the summer, while the winter months offer basketball and coed volleyball leagues. Details on specific programs can be found on the Leagues page and in the Parks & Recreation Brochure.

Softball

Softball enthusiasts have come to know Champion Fields as a one of the finest softball venues in the Midwest. Champion hosted the 1995 Women's World Tournament, the 2000 Girls 18 and under National Fastpitch Tournament, the 2001 Girls 16 and under Fastpitch National Championship, and in 2003 the Girls 14 and under National Tournament. The Town will continue to pursue additional tournaments for Champion Fields. Champion has and will continue to host numerous state and regional adult tournaments, which furthers the notion that we are a "Hotbed of Softball in the Midwest". Weekday evenings are dedicated to league play that spans from April to October for Youth and Adult leagues maximizing the weekdays available playing times.
