Learn to Swim
Learn to Swim is offered to persons 16 and older. This class is not just for the beginner. Our instructors will work with you to improve your strokes or teach you the basic swimming strokes. Learn to swim is offered in the summer, fall, and winter. Registration is limited to a maximum of 5 per class. Refer to the program guide for class schedules.
Early Bird Lap Swim
Early Bird Lap Swim at Fairview Family Aquatic Center offers you the opportunity to get your laps in early in the morning. All six lanes will be open for lap swimming. Swimmers must be 15 or older. Lap swimming is open from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., Monday thru Friday. The fee is $2.00 per visit or $50.00 for the whole summer. The fee is just $25.00 if you purchase a season pool pass.
Aquacise
Aquacise is a water aerobics class held in waist to chest deep water that lets you work out without putting additional stress on your muscles, bones and joints. This class is held at Fairview Family Aquatic Center, M, W, F from 8:00-9:00 a.m. The fee is $2.00 per visit. Participants must be 15 or older.
Scuba Classes
Scuba Classes consist of both classroom and underwater sessions that teach participants the basics of underwater exploration. Upon successful completion of the class, participants will be prepared to take a certification dive to obtain a SCUBA certification. Midwest Diving Specialists and Normal Parks and Recreation co-sponsor this class. Participants must be 12 or older and must have reasonably proficient swimming skills. Classes are offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings in June and July. Classes are also offered in the fall, winter and spring months.
