Aquatics
The Town of Normal operates two seasonal outdoor aquatic facilities.
Fairview Family Aquatic Center
Fairview
Family Aquatic Center (FFAC) is located in Fairview park, 800 N.
Main St, approximately one mile north of the Main and College
intersection. FFAC has exciting brand new waterslides,
a spray ground and a birthday party pavilion. The three new
slides will offer some of the best thrill rides in Central
Illinois, featuring a tube slide, body slide and the incredibly
fast speed slide!
For the younger children, FFAC has a fantastic new spray ground with over a dozen new features that will provide endless entertainment for the little ones. If you haven’t been to the FFAC in awhile, you will definitely want to come out and see the wonderful new additions to one of the best aquatic centers in downstate Illinois.
The FFAC includes a zero depth activity pool with five foot swim area, five waterslides, one sand volleyball court and concession area. The zero depth edge of the activity pool features water spray toys that children and adults can control. A kiddie waterslide and water mushroom are also located in this area. The five foot area has two lap swim lanes roped off for fitness swimming during public swim hours.
The plunge pool, adjacent to the lap swim area, features a one-meter diving board and two drop slides .
Season - May 29 through September 6, 2010.
Hours - Open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm when Unit 5 is in session.
Admission - $5 for adults 16 and over, $4 for children ages 3-15 years old and children 2 & under are admitted free of charge.
Anderson Aquatic Center
Anderson
Aquatic Center is located at 100 S. Maple with access off of College
Avenue. The facility boasts two
waterslides in the training pool as well as plenty of sun and shade
areas for relaxing. The kiddy water play area is a zero depth area
complete with a small waterslide, water cannons, a submarine play/slide
structure and lots of spray toys. The amenities at Anderson make
it the perfect place for families to enjoy the day.
Season - June 5 through August 15, 2010.
Hours - Open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm daily.
Admission - $5 for adults 16 and over, $4 for children 3-15 years old and children 2 and under are admitted free of charge.
Toddler Time Monday thru Saturday for the entire
season!! Only the zero depth area will be open during
this
time. This time is designed for families of toddlers and
has a reduced admission fee of $3.00 for all persons ages 2 and above.
Families that choose to come back in the afternoon may do so at
a reduced admission fee when they show their wrist band. Season passholders will be admitted free with their pass.

*A household pass may be purchased for two adults and four of their
children. ALL household members must reside at the same address.
Children listed on the household pass must be under age 18.
We may from time to time ask for proof of residency or proof of age for family members.
Season passes admit patrons to both Anderson Pool and the Fairview Family Aquatic Center.
Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department Season Pool Passes will not be honored at the Town of Normal Aquatic Facilities.
Aquatic Facility Policies
NOTE: Children 11 years and under must be accompanied by a paying adult (16 years or older) at all aquatic facilities.
- Children in diapers are required to wear either a lil' swimmer diaper or plastic pants over their diaper per Health Dept. regulations.
- Outside food and drinks may not be brought into aquatic facilities (water is excluded).
- Proper swim attire must be worn at all times. Street clothes, such as t-shirts, cut-off shorts, mesh shorts, leotards, underwear, etc. may not be worn in the pool.
- Patrons exiting the facility for more than 15 minutes will be required to pay the daily admission fee to re-enter the facility. (This does not apply to season pass holders.)
- Only coast guard approved flotation devices may be used in the pool (i.e. no rafts, water wings or inflatable toys).
- Smoking is not allowed anywhere within the aquatic facilities.
- Patrons are asked to review more specific rules posted at each facility.
- The Aquatic Staff reserves the right to dismiss any patron not abiding by facility rules, acting in an unsafe manner or inhibiting the enjoyment of other patrons.
Lessons
The Aquatic Division provides swim lessons from infant to adult, summer swim team, and life guard classes, water exercise classes and lap swim times. Most classes are summer only. See the Summer Parks and Recreation Brochure for more information.
Rental
The two facilities are available for two hour rentals in the evening and occasionally on weekend mornings. Rental reservations will be taken at the Normal Parks and Recreation Department before Memorial Day. All reservations after Memorial Day must be made at the aquatic facility being rented.
Birthday
Parties
We supply the food and fun, you supply the children. Birthday parties may be scheduled at the Fairview Family Aquatic Center or Anderson Pool between the hours of 11:30 and 8 pm. The parties are geared toward children 6 - 12 years. Parties include a two hour stay, reserved birthday table in the concession area, a snack, birthday hostess, a t-shirt for the birthday child, and birthday party games on request. Games may be omitted and replaced with free swim time during the entire party. Admission fee is for up to 10 people. Adults are not included in the snack count. Additional adult guests will be required to pay the daily admission fee to enter.
Package #1, $65/$90* - Admission, cookies, soda, and a T-shirt for the birthday person.
Package #2, $80/$120* - Admission, cupcakes, ice cream cup, soda and a T-shirt for the birthday person.
Package #3, $100/$140* - Same as #2 with an additional slice of pizza or hot dog for each child.
* - Fee for up to 20 children/adults
How to make a reservation
Birthday party arrangements must be made in person and paid in full at the time of the reservation. Reservations may be made at the Normal Parks and Recreation Department before the pools open for the season. All reservations after the pools open to the public must be made at the aquatic facility where the party will be held. Birthday party and private rental reservations may not be scheduled after mid August due to low staffing.
