Gasoline snow blowers and riding mowers with affixed plows offer lots of convenience when it comes to quick and easy removal of heavy snow. But there are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to operating these machines safely:
- Never refuel a snow blower or mower while it's running
- Never use substitute or low-grade fuels
- Don't smoke while refueling
- Don't warm up a blower or mower in a closed garage
- Have your blower or mower inspected before each season
- Take plenty of breaks and stay warm! Snow can be deceivingly heavy, and shoveling can cause serious danger for people with heart problems!
