Job Title: Part Time Receptionist

$13.58 to $15.17/ DOQ
Distinguishing features of work:
This position is under the supervision of the City Clerk. The individual in this position is responsible for the operation of the switchboard, and portraying a positive image of the Town of Normal to citizens and visitors while processing Freedom of Information Act requests, and performing special projects as assigned.
Hours:
8 AM to 12:30 MONDAY - FRIDAY
Examples of work performed:
' Operation of the switchboard.
' Performs various secretarial duties.
' Answer basic citizen questions about municipal services and direct customers to appropriate location for assistance.
' Receive and process Freedom of Information Act requests.
' Sort all Town mail.
' Remove all articles related to Town business from newspapers and paste in Town Scrapbook.
' Send out new resident packets.
' Performs other duties as assigned.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
' Ability to communicate, positively, with the general public and get along well with others.
' Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
' Ability to work under time pressure.
' Proficient secretarial skills, including keyboard and calculator and word processing.
Desirable experience and training:
' Graduation from high school or equivalent.
' Experience with Microsoft Word.
' Some Customer service experience or equivalent.
