NOTICE: The Town of Normal recently elected to significantly improve its emergency medical service (EMS) to its citizens and guests. As a result the Town has begun the process of transitioning its EMS to the Paramedic level of emergency care. Effective immediately, persons interested in a Fire/Paramedic career with the Town of Normal must possess a State of Illinois Paramedic certification at the time that an offer of employment is extended. In order to apply, applicants must either possess an Illinois Paramedic License or be enrolled in a paramedic training program.

The Fire/EMS Employment Interest Form and Police Employment Interest Form is for all persons interested in our entry-level sworn Fire Fighter/EMT-Paramedic or Police Officer positions. We actively seek Police and Fire/EMS Interest Forms year round. When a selection cycle begins to develop a new Register of Eligibles, those that have Fire/EMS and Police Interest Forms on file with us will receive an application packet. This packet will outline specific information that you must know to participate in this selection cycle. Information may include the testing schedule, exams, passing points, and testing locations. For those persons who successfully complete the Police or Fire written and physical agility exams, applicants must complete a detailed application by the given deadline.
