Summer Softball
Summer Softball leagues are played at Champion Fields in Maxwell Park from late April to early August. Leagues are offered for men’s recreation, co-ed and church. Team registration takes place in early March. For more information visit www.normal.org/go/leagues.
Fall Softball
Fall Softball leagues are played at Champion Fields in
Maxwell Park from early September to mid October. This five week
season plays two games a night for a total of 10 games.

Winter Basketball
Winter Basketball leagues are played on Monday (Chiddix) and Tuesday (Parkside Jr. High) from early November thru mid March. Team registration begins in early October. For more information contact the parks and recreation office, 454-9540
Drop-In Basketball
Drop-In Basketball is offered two nights a week during the
winter for pick up games of basketball. Drop-Ins allow
participants to pay a nightly fee of $2.00 and works great for
the individual who wants to get together with others players for
games of basketball. Watch for the fall, winter, spring program
guide for the drop-in schedule.
Disc Golf
Disc Golf is a fun sport/activity providing good exercise, friendly competition and requires no fees or reservations. We offer several one day clinics during the summer months to learn or improve your disc golf skills. Each clinic will include throwing techniques for driving and putting, rules discussion and the opportunity to play the course with supervision. Participants are encouraged to furnish their own discs but discs will be available to borrow if needed. Clinics are held at the north side of Maxwell Park and instructed by members of the local Disc Golf Assn. Refer to the the summer program guide for clinic dates.
Beginner Golf Clinics
Beginner Golf Clinics are group instructional clinics for the beginner or less experienced golfer. Classes meet two times a week for two weeks. Participants will receive instruction on pre-swing fundamental, putting, chipping and pitching, full swing, rules, etiquette and practice techniques. Participants must be 16 years or older and clinics take place in May at Ironwood Golf Course. Refer to the summer program guide for more information.
Women’s Golf Clinic
Women’s Golf Clinic allows participants to receive instruction from Ironwood Golf Professional Craig Onsrud. This program covers etiquette, pre-swing fundamentals, the full swing, putting, chipping and practice techniques. Classes meet two times a week for two consecutive weeks in May. Refer to the summer program guide for more information.
Ironwood Women’s Golf Association
Ironwood Women’s Golf Association is a friendly, non-competitive golf association for women. They play at Ironwood Golf Course on Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. For information and details regarding this association, contact the Ironwood Clubhouse at 454-9620.
Ironwood Men’s Golf Association
Ironwood Men’s Golf Association is a competitive golf association for men. Events are conducted at Ironwood Golf Course beginning in April and ending in October. Prizes in the form of gift certificates are awarded for all events. The association also maintains CDGA/USGA handicaps for all members.
