Preferred age of volunteers in High School age and older. Contact Kersten Wilson at kwilson@normal.org in January if interested.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Town of Normal’s annual Easter Egg Hunt takes place at Champion Fields softball complex in Maxwell Park. This event takes place the Saturday morning prior to Easter weekend. It is for children 10 and under. Children collect eggs and play games. We need volunteers to help with games, face painting, help fill eggs prior to the event, etc. Preferred age of volunteers is teenagers and older. Haunted Trail
The Haunted Trail is a Halloween event that takes place on the last two Friday and Saturday nights in October. We need approximately 100 volunteers per night for this event. Time commitment for this event is from 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm. You can choose to volunteer all four nights, just one or anything in between. Preferred age is High School age and older. Volunteers are needed to dress up in costumes (provided), sell tickets, help people on and off the hayride, and help with face painting. Contact Kersten Wilson at kwilson@normal.org beginning in September if interested.
Phone Calls from Santa
Phone Calls from Santa is a program where parents can register their children to receive a phone call from Santa in December. Parents call into the office and give us information about their child in order that Santa will know more about them when he calls. We need volunteers to take the registration phone calls at the Parks and Recreation office. This requires a 3 hr. shift in the morning or afternoon M – F beginning the middle of November. Then, we need volunteers to be “Santas”. The time requirement for this is from 5:45 pm – 8:30 pm on a weeknight in December. Preferred age to take calls is college age and older. Preferred age for Santa is adult male. Contact Kersten Wilson at kwilson@normal.org beginning in November if interested.
