Rising Stars - 3 years old
Rising Stars is a program for 3 yrs. old that is held at the Community Activity Center located at One Normal Plaza. This program offers a well-rounded social environment as well as a chance to explore educational material that will prepare your child for future preschool programs. Your child will be encouraged to participate in several group activities as well as have time to explore and learn as an individual. Participants must be potty trained and must be 3 before the first class. The school year begins in September and ends in April. Classes meet T, Th, 9:30-11:30am or T, Th, 12:30 -2:30pm. Registration begins in January for the fall session. Half of the fee is due at the time of registration and the balance is due the following January. Refer to the Program Guide for more details. Mail-in or walk-in registration must be used in order to be able to make payments.
Small Wonders - 4 and 5 years old
Small Wonders is a 9 month program that offers a 4 year old class as well as a pre-kindergarten 5-year old class. The 4 year old program provides children with a well-rounded social as well as educational atmosphere that we hope will help prepare them for kindergarten. The pre-kindergarten 5 year old program will provide children with a more defined and advanced social as well as educational opportunity to better prepare them for kindergarten. Children must be potty trained in order to attend. Both classes are licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services. The Small Wonders program meets at the Community Activity Center located at One Normal Plaza. The 4 year old class meets M, W, F from 9:00 to 11:30 am. Children must be 4 before the start of the program. The pre-kindergarten 5 year old class meets M-Th, 12:15-2:45 pm. Children must be 5 before December 31st. Registration begins in January for the fall class. A deposit of $150.00 is due at registration. The deposit will go towards the fee of the program. Another payment is due before the class begins in September and the last payment is due in January. Refer to the Program Guide for more details. Mail-in or walk-in registration must be used in order to make payments. Web-trac and Tele-trac will not allow partial payments.
Preschool Playmates 3-5 yrs. old
This summer program will allow your child to socialize and be creative with other children their age this summer. This is a two hour program that is held twice a week for 8 weeks at the Community Activity Center. Children are allowed time to play organized games, sing songs, read and participate in other special activities that will aid in their socialization process. Child must be potty trained in order to attend. Refer to the summer program guide.
