The
Community Beautification Awards were developed to recognize the
efforts of residents and businesses that improve the overall
appearance of the community through the enhancement of their
property.
CATEGORIES
Nominations may be for:
- Single Family Residence
- Multi-Family Residence
- Business/Commercial
- Government/Institution/ Religious
Property that is publicly visible from any public land can now be nominated. This includes property that is viewable from any public street, Town of Normal Parks, the Constitution Trail, and Ironwood Golf Course.
AWARDS PRESENTED
Properties in each category will be recognized with Beautification Awards and Honorable Mention Recognition. Certificates are presented to Beautification Award winners and Honorable Mention recipients at a Town Council Meeting. Beautification Award winners are also presented with a yard sign, which designates the property as an award winner.
CRITERIA
A
panel of local residents will judge each nominated property.
Criteria used will include:
- Architecture
- Landscaping
- General Upkeep/Maintenance
- Overall Appeal
- Appropriateness/Fit to Neighborhood
Additionally, Business/Commercial, Government/Institution/Religious, and Multi-family properties will be evaluated on:
- Signage
- Light Fixtures
- Parking Areas
Nomination deadline is August 22, 2008.
