All About Normal

Do you want to learn more about your local government? Perhaps you have questions about services the Town offers? Or maybe you want to get more involved but don't know where to start. To help answer your questions, the Town invites you to participate in All About Normal.

All About Normal is a free program offered to help educate community members about local government and services provided by the Town. Over an eight (8) week course, participants will gain an understanding of the inner workings of Town government and services. Throughout this interactive program participants will meet Town Council members and key staff, learn the nuts and bolts of City processes, and create new relationships.

All About Normal is a free program open to residents and non-residents, however class size is limited. Participants must be at least 17-years-old and priority will be given to current Town of Normal residents. Please complete this form by August 7, 2017 and confirm your ability to attend seven (7) of the eight (8) classes to be considered for this exciting program.  No prior experience is required, just a desire to learn more about our community.

2017 Class Schedule

This year's sessions will start on August 30, 2017 and continue every Wednesday through October 18, 2017. Sessions begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude promptly at 8:00 p.m. Each week class members will interact with key staff and members of the Town’s leadership. A variety of learning tools including speakers, discussion, presentations, interactive exercises, and site visits will be used to create a dynamic learning environment. This is not a “death by power point” style program. Class members should expect to actively participate, question, and contribute while they learn about the challenges and opportunities facing our community.
