This is a one-week camp that is offered to youth entering 2nd through 10th grades. It is taught by a local art instructor and is a specialized and more advanced art program. Participants usually take an in-town field trip during the week. This program takes place at the West Shelter in June.
Ballet I & 2 (ages 5 1/2 - 7 and 7 1/2 - 9) – Classes emphasize the development of classical ballet skills with a focus on proper placement and alignment. Students will learn basic ballet vocabulary through barre and center work while building strength and flexibility. Flyer (PDF)
Children’s Theater is an eight-week summer program introducing participants to various theatrical areas, including music, makeup, dancing, set design and building, and the process of putting them all together in a play / musical production at the end of the eight weeks. The program meets three mornings a week at the Connie Link Amphitheatre. Participants must be entering 2nd-8th grade to participate.
Circus Art Class Classes for those ages 8-18 years meet on Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 pm and include warm up, strength training, conditioning tips and stretching. Beginners will focus on proper body position, muscle usage, basic positions and basic balances. More advanced students will learn more difficult skills, choreography and artistry. Participants learn at their own pace and interest level. As strength and confidence increases, participants will be amazed at what they are capable of doing. Some of the skills learned are: Juggling, Lyra Hoop, Silks, Tight wire, German Wheel, Spanish Web, Rolla-Bola and many more. Classes meet September through April. Flyer (PDF)

Grown-Up/Child Cupcake Decorating- Halloween and Christmas Class
Join us as we use buttercream frosting to learn about flat icing and piping delicious cupcakes. No experience needed! Participants will be able to bring some of their creations home. FLYER(PDF)
Heel To ToeThis class will teach the basics of both ballet and tap dance. Dancers will develop a sense of rhythm as well as body awareness and the space around them. Basic dance vocabulary and concepts will be introduced at an age appropriate level to prepare students for future structured dance class. Hip Hop This class explores the fundamentals of rhythmic movement. Students will learn the differences in qualitative movements, timing, and rhythms. Students will obtain introductory knowledge of hip hop movements while able to express themselves in an upbeat manner. Flyer (PDF)
Intro to Guitar & Intermediate Class
This 8 week course, taught by guitar instructor Scott Terrell, will give a solid foundation for the beginning guitarist, 6 years and older. Subjects covered will be basic chords, proper technique, tuning, etc. using the framework of actual songs to create a fun and informative experience.
Children ages 7-10 will explore the fundamentals of jazz dance in the traditional style in a fun and energetic manner.
